Bogachiel River - March 11th, 2014
  • Recorded:
  • Mostly sunny
  • 55 ° F
  • Fishing: Excellent
Lots of fish around it seems, our boat went 6/8 on a beautiful day! Lots of anglers too, so don't be afraid to try that new section you've always wanted to try, or even to do something totally against the grain. Saw numerous other hookups along the way, and had a few real nice fish to hand.

Yakima River - March 8th, 2014
  • Recorded:
  • Scattered showers
  • 40 ° F
  • Fishing: Great
We had a great report (one of several) from good friend and client Spencer W. from last week. Spence and his partner boated many fish on BH stones, Pat's Rubber Legs and other Skwala stonefly nymph patterns. As long as river levels allow, we expect the Yak to continue to produce well. Recent rains may keep it off for a day or two, but expect good to very good fishing when it drops out to fishable conditions, especially with the Skwalas about to fly.

Cowlitz River - March 8th, 2014
  • Recorded:
  • Cloudy
  • 52 ° F
  • Fishing: Fair
OK, so fair may be a stretch, but Anil did pull out a pretty nice steelhead last week (if you're reading this, you likely saw the picture on FB last week...) Water levels last week were surprisingly good despite the deluge of rain, as they were holding back water at the dam. This week so far have seen higher water levels, but as soon as they drop, we expect fishing to pick back up where it was, and hopefully improve. While the fly fishing has yet to really round into form, gear boats had been picking up a few fish a day last week, so hopefully that trend will continue later this coming week. Fishing below Blue Creek seems to be the best option once water subsides.

Green River - November 4th, 2012
  • Recorded:
  • Partly cloudy
  • 60 ° F
  • Fishing: Great
If you looking to hook something, the Green River would be a safe bet right now.  A combination of Coho and Chum are all over the river and you could perhaps hook in to a Steelhead if you’re lucky.  Chum and Coho up between Metzler Park and Flaming Geyser State Park are plentiful.  Swing leeches in purple and pink and you should come out ahead.

Yakima River - October 5th, 2012
  • Recorded:
  • Mostly sunny
  • 67 ° F
  • Fishing: Great

Spencer let us know he fished the Yakima River above the Canyon in the Ellensburg area and said the fishing was pretty good.  The water is super low but fish appear to be alive and well in the deeper pockets.  His success came from nymphing stone fly’s in the first half of the day and as the sun started to come down, Chubby Chernobyl’s energized the fish quite well.  20 plus fish to hand with the larger ones of the day in the 15-16 range.  Weather was great!

Hoh River - February 13th, 2012
  • Recorded:
  • Cloudy
  • 39 ° F
  • Fishing: Great
Penninsula fishing is really great right now. Watch the flows and head out asap! There have been some really big fish this year in January and February and as long as the flows continue to be stable, we should see some great fishing. We went 6/10 on Monday...not bad! Anil hooked a fish near the 18lb mark...
